We have a fix! (and a suspect on the loose...)
It seems that all of the printers which are experiencing problems have a
firmware revision earlier than "8.02". In the cases where we have been
able to flash the firmware across the network, printing has resumed.
A crack team of client services technicians will be on site, hunting
down those pesky early firmware revisions and flashing them in to shape.
Hopefully we will be able to track down all offending printers. Again,
if you have a printer that is experiencing these problems, contact the
helpline ([log in to unmask], x62604) to file a report.

more details...
A problem similar to this one occured this summer during the outbreak of
the "Code Red" worm. Apparently, traffic generated by the worm was
detrimental to the health of JetDirect print servers of the pre-8.x
firmware generation.
We are seeking a similar troublemaker at this time. Once we have him in
detention, we will let you know.
