On Saturday, a great blue heron was fishing at the access before the Sandbar
entrance. At Sandbar, three pair of American wigeon were feeding amongst a
few pintail, many mallards, blacks, Canada geese, common mergansers. A pair
of black-backed gulls were feeding nearby.
There was a tree full of 41 Bohemian waxwings near Pelots Point, North Hero.
A large flock of horned larks fed around four turkeys in spoiled hay spread
in stubble near Phelps Farm in North Hero. In thick flying snow, some 300
snow geese and maybe 100 canadas were right next to the road in corn stubble
about half a mile east of Rte 2 at a farm on East Shore Road N.
In New Haven, two pair of Killdeer were near River Road and a turkey vulture
was hanging out near the corner of Rte 116 and Hardscrabble Road.
