On Sunday we went looking for the two species of Wigeon up at the sandbar.
Only saw one american wigeon (perhaps two, but the latter flew away too
quickly) floating close to the shoreline with two mallards and two
american black ducks. The wigeon's lowly companions allowed it to show
off its field marks, especially bill size and color. *MIGHT* have heard
some eastern meadowlarks in the marshy area opposite the sandbar parking
lot and on 89 south to Burlington we racked up numerous red-tailed
sightings (one showing off his fresh lunch) as well as 4 turkey vultures.
