I wanted to let everyone know that for the next few months I will be leading
the spring bird monitoring project at the Dead Creek Wildlife Management
Area in Addison. Dead Creek has been designated as one of several
Important Bird Areas in the state by Vermont Audubon due to the significant
abundance and diversity of breeding, wintering, and migrating birds that
visit its many habitats. I am encouraging anyone interested in
participating, regardless of birding ability, to email me directly or just
show up on the dates. April Dates are Saturday, April 6th and 20th. We
will meet at 7 A.M. at the Waterfowl Observation Area on Rt 17. The census
route is a combination of driving and walking that usually takes about three
I would also appeal to anyone birding Dead Creek in April, May, and June to
email me their bird list with date, time, and general weather observations.
Thanks. Happy Spring Birding and hope to see you this spring.
