Observations, Saturday, 6/8/02:
Not 1 but 4 GREAT EGRETS were at the marsh along Kennedy Dr., across from
Twin Oaks in South Burlington.
Highlights from Mt. Philo, Charlotte:
10 warbler sp. incl. Mourning, Chestnut-sided, Black-&-White, Yellow,
Yellow-rumped, Ovenbird, American Redstart, Black-throated Blue,
Black-throated Green, Common Yellowthroat. Also,
Great Crested Flycatcher
Tiger Swallowtail sp.
Delaware Skipper (???) Rel. large fiery orange skipper; fast but erratic
flight back and forth across road on lower section of Mt. Philo; hovering
over vegetation on shoulders; liked to perch on big "elephant ear" plants.
Butterfliers and botanists, HELP!!!
