The past two weeks I have had a woodcock hanging around and eating from the
mulch that is under our bushes and trees. It is wonderful to be able to see
it up so close. It doesn't seem to be afraid although it does walk away
fairly quickly in its very strange gait whenever it sees any of us in its
space. I am imagineing it is doing this feeding because it has been so dry
and the mulch does tend to stay moist and does have worms, etc. in it.
