You could try Mud Creek in Alburg. I've seen up to 50 or more
Wood Ducks in mid to late September in past years (haven't been
there this fall). Because of the old railroad bed that runs
through the wet areas, you can get very close to the ducks without
a canoe. Last Sept. I watched an otter swim back and forth for
about 15 minutes. Keep it in mind for spring too for Ring-necked
Duck (lots), Green-winged Teal, Hooded Mergansers, Common
Goldeneye, and others. It's a neat spot.
