I feel like I have to chime on the virus/mail issue. While Outlook
offers many nice features, the fact that it is specifically targeted for
viruses counts it out in my book. I know if you configure it properly,
it can be safe but this requires extra effort; sometimes a lot of extra
effort. I would recommend that you use something that you know other
people are using, so that you can get help from friends and colleagues
but, because exchage/outlook is the most widely used piece of groupware,
it is the biggest target of virus writers and hackers. We use Groupwise
here but if you aren't a novell shop, it probably won't make sense for
you. I have heard many people rave about FirstClass and it offers
excellent multiplatform features. This may be the way to go.
