We have been using Zen in our high school for two years now and find it
invaluable for distributing updates and applications over the network. We
have been having some compatibility issues with Zen and 2000 in the area of
roaming profiles. If a person logs onto the same system every it seems OK
but if a user roams they have trouble logging on.
Anyone else suffer from this malady?

If you are under the school license agreement (SLA) with Novell, you have
the option of buying Zenworks. It is a directory based desktop management
tool that enables you to employ policies and other means to control the
desktops. You can control them by user and by machine from within the
directory. We are moving toward replacing DeepFreeze with Zenworks. We are
already using Zenworks for mandatory profile storage and distribution to
2000 Pro workstations. Zenworks provides a number of other desktop and
workstation managment tools.
