I received the following announcement with a specific request to pass it on
to our membership. I was pleased that they looked to our SIG as a source of
candidates for this position!

>UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY

>The Graduate School of Education, University of California, Berkeley,
>is seeking a faculty member to serve as Associate Dean for Teacher
>Education, for appointment beginning approximately July 1, 2003. The
>faculty rank and starting salary for this appointment will depend
>upon the applicant's record of achievements. Candidates desiring
>either an appointment as tenured professor (associate or full) or a
>senior lecturer with security of employment are invited to apply.

>A central mission of the School is to improve teaching and learning
>for all students in our schools by preparing exemplary teachers in
