We (still) use the Uranium reduction of water for our deuterium
isotope analysis. For this we need depleted Uranium, obviously.
Unfortunately, our "supplier" (KLM Royal Dutch Airways who had a
quantity of depleted U from air craft balancing weights) has recently
sent the remains of his supply to a nuclear waste facility. Therefore
my question is:
Where in Europe, preferably within the EU, can I find supply of
deplted U? Where do the other labs that still use this good old
method get their supply from? (We have all the needed permits to
transport, handling and storage of this material).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
