My name is Chip Sawyer from the Center for Rural Studies (CRS) at the
University of Vermont. Some of you may know that CRS and the Vermont
League of Cities and Towns, under the advisement of the Municipal
Information Technology Committee (http://crs.uvm.edu/egov/mit), will be
organizing a Municipal E-Government Conference in late 2003 / early
2004. This conference will include speakers, discussions, and hands-on
workshops to teach municipal officers about various aspects of
e-government and municipal information technology.
CRS and VLCT want to organize a conference that truly addresses the I.T.
needs of Vermont's municipal officers. We are inviting you and others
in your office to give us your input in two ways.
The first is to fill out a brief questionnaire at
http://crs.uvm.edu/egov/mit/confsurv.html. The survey is quick with
questions about what I.T. needs exist in your town office and what
particular software or applications you would like to learn. We urge
you to fill it out and to inform any others in your town office who may
not have received this email.
The other way to get us your input is to take part in an e-government
priorities meeting that is taking place on December 11th in Berlin, VT.
It is our hope that this will be a dynamic and inclusive meeting that
results in many collaborative efforts and helps to lead Vermont further
down the road to new and innovative ways of disseminating government
services and information, both municipal and statewide. If you are
interested in attending and learning more, please contact me using the
information below.
Thank you,
CHIP SAWYER
