It gets worse.

I was recently hospitalized for surgery. At 4:00 AM a nursing assistant came
in to take vitals and attempted to put a 14 cm cuff on my left forearm! When
I tried to explain to her what she was doing wrong, she became quite
offended that a patient would tell her how to do her job. After all, she was
the expert:-)
