A drake BARROWS GOLDENEYE was found on the 18th amidst a flock of about
80 COMMON GOLDENEYES near Mud Island off the Panton shoreline of Lake
Champlain.
A juvenile NORTHERN GANNETT, probably a separate bird from the one seen
last week, was spotted heading south mid-lake off Charlotte on the 19th.
Two SANDERLINGS, about a month later than usual, and an OSPREY were at
Delta Park in Colchester on the 20th.
At Wilder Dam on the Connecticut River near White River Junction, a
HORNED GREBE, 10 GREATER SCAUP, a RING-NECKED DUCK, 3 COMMON MERGANSERS and
a male NORTHERN HARRIER were found on the 17th.
A lingering HERMIT THRUSH was at the Union Village Dam in Thetford on
the 21st along with 2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS and 22 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS.
A late CHIPPING SPARROW visited a feeder in Shelburne this week. Five FOX
SPARROWS and an immature WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW were seen at a feeder in
Manchester Center. Another 5 to 6 FOX SPARROWS were present in East Dorset.
