Winter is closing in at West Rutland Marsh. 10
observers tallied 17 species. High numbers of
black-capped chickadees and blue jays were seen
among the year-round residents.
The highlights were two red-tailed hawks sitting
companionably on a utility power pole and good
looks at five American tree sparrows.
