30 here... only been using email since my first prodigy account in 1993.

I use email for TONS more stuff than "professionally". I rarely send
jokes, but do send interesting URLs to people I know have some form of
direct interest in the topic.

Uh, yeah... mmy mom... I love her dearly, has been publicly humiliated by
me (it was sort of a mistake) because she just wouldn't stop sending
hoaxes and chain letters to me and others. She might still be doing it,
but at least got the clue to not send them to me :)

I'm sure I fit somewhere on the fringe of email users. I have... umm...
no less than 12 email addresses, and that's not including the aliases
tohat just get forwarded to other accounts. I check 4 daily, another 4
weekly and the rest... once in a while. I am finally down to being on only
about 12 or so listservs, including the uvm ones... hmm... maybe more.
I administer one of those lists now (not a UVM one).
I'm also on a bunch of yahoo groups, but only get a couple in email, read
the rest onsite.
All that to say, on a busy day, I could easily have to sort through
1500-2000 emails, most of which are topics I have no intention to read and
just delet. As for spam, my zoo account probably gets 4 or 5 spam messages
for every single legit email (I should actually cuont it out for a couple
days).
I don't get email viruii because the majority of my email accounts are
read via pine from the shell.
One of my hotmail accounts actually gets about 99:1 spam...
all the problems of having account as old as 1993... when I used to post
to usenet more frequently and so forth.
If I were to only get 10 messages a day, I'd think the server/s was/were
broken and wonder what important messages aren't getting through. :)
