If you are out of warranty I know there are multiple companies who
repair tape drives for fairly reasonable rates. I haven't had to deal
with any for a while and don't have any names off hand, but a quick
search on the net will get you some. You can call them and describe the
problems you are having and get a ballpark. I had two DAT drives fixed
for $150. each about five years ago. Good luck,
