Are you OK? It sounds like you were having a "Magic Moment". I can
tell you've been doing some 60's stuff -- and not just music.
Now I think I agree with you: you should be certified! :-) >>
Your response made me laugh out loud. Thanks, I needed that.
Despite the lighthearted nature of Baez/Jay/ABBA (Mama Mia - now wouldn't
that be one hell of a revival group?), I do think there a clear lines here,
and despite the strong feelings being expressed, I also think there is a lot
of agreement on possible solutions.
I had hoped to be part of the ILN discussion today, but a serious illness in
the family is pulling me away, so let me reiterate what I think can be a
level of compromise and agreement.
I do think there is room for both the endorsed positions and the
non-endorsed. People who are strictly techie (using the Network Admin as an
example) do not need an endorsement. Those who are involved in teaching
students OR in curriculum development/integration should be certified. I
strongly believe a district would be remiss not to have the latter on board,
but that could be a district's decision. Further, I think the title
"Technology Coordinator" should involve curriculum responsibilities and be
certified. The Central office person who "does" technology but not
curriculum should be called something else.
And, Vince, this is one guy who was in the 60's AND remembers them. Well,
maybe not the aftermath of weekend frat parties - they're a bit fuzzy.
