Hey everyone,
While procrastinating doing our homework, Amanda and I came up with a new
fundraiser. It's relatively simple and environmentally friendly (you'll like
this Leora)! So here's the plan...we're going to collect returnable cans and
bottles. Let's stick to plastic and aluminum, no glass. We figure that those
of you in the dorms can collect soda bottles and cans from your neighbors, the
trash cans in the hall (we pick through them daily...just don't dig too deep
and make sure to wash your hands after), the trash and recycle centers
anywhere...just don't collect any alcoholic containers because you could get
caught and written up for it (we don't want that). Those of you who live off
campus collect all and any returnables...if you go to a party bring a trashbag
and walk around the room picking up empties. This may sound gross and not so
fun, but we could make a fair amount of money easily. All cans and bottles
must be rinsed and capless. Amanda and I have started a trash bag of soda
bottles and cans in our room, we rinsed them all mostly to prevent them from
smelling, but most redemption centers won't take them unless they're clean.
So start collecting... and next Sunday (Feb. 2nd)we'll meet and Amanda and I
will throw them all in the back of my truck and drive to Colchester to collect
the cash...and woo hoo we'll be that much closer to earning enough money for
nationals.
See you tomorrow at 2 for practice at the tennis courts...Drew that means leave
your house at NOON and that you MIGHT get there by 2:00pm,
  Woo hoo we love soccer,
        Midget 1 and Midget 2
