Recently I was asking about anti-virus solutions and it appears that I was
barking up the wrong tree. After being certified virus free by f-prot (dos),
AVG 6.0 free, and Mcafee TVD a client machine was still acting funny.
Locking up on logins and displaying webpages without IE open. Ran Spybot
Search and Destroy and it found (among many other things) my problem.
A program called RapidBlaster that was running on boot and would call up ads
from the internet. Spybot helped me identify and eliminate the problem.
Anyone else run into this problem?
Anyone had any experience with AdAware v. spybot?
>RapidBlaster is a task run on Windows startup. When an internet connection
is >present it periodically connects to its servers to fetch advertising.
our ads were all music oriented not adult content thankfully.
