  Parts of the Richelieu River are open.  On a rare trip to Quebec
  this past weekend I was surprised at the amount of open water (and
  gulls and ducks) along a stretch of this river between Iberville and
  Highway 20.  Parts of the Saint Lawrence are also open.  Made me wish
  I had allowed time for a few birding stops....
