Maybe there is not enough cover near the feeder? Is the seed fresh? Neighbor's cat lurking around? I have a hopper type feeder in my back yard that used to be very popular ...until a new cat started to appear in my yard. Now the birds prefer the smaller feeder hanging in the pine tree out front where there is more cover.
