If you are passing through the town of Middlebury, especially in the
morning, look behind the Congregational Church on route 7. This past fall
there was an adult Peregrine using a dead Catalpa tree, located on the
west side of the church just north of the village green, as a roost. It
would drop down every now and then to take a pass at the pigeons on the
rooftops of downtown Middlebury. It has been seen in the mornings as well
as in the afternoon so keep your eyes open.
Today, 2/5/03, the Pergrine was back (seen at 7:45am) after an absence of
approx. two months. Hope it sticks around.
