Hi Birders,
I have not written for a long time. But am always interested in the emails
everyone sends. At my feeder (Georgia, VT) most of the winter- 7 bluejays, 2
crows, 2-3 red-breasted nuthatches, 2-3 white-breasted nuthatches, 2-3 tufted
timice, 8 black-capped chicakdees, 1-2 female pileated wp, 2-3 hairy wp, 2-3
downy wp, 6-12 mourning doves, 1 brown creeper, 3-6 Amer. goldfinches . No
sparrows yet, occassional juncos, and on a x-country ski just now...35 snow
buntings in the sand pit near by.
At work in South Burlington, I routinely see juncos, song sparrows, northern
cardinal pair, bc chickadees, Amer. goldfiinches, tufted timice, downy wp and
hairy wp.
Reminder: The Vermont Breeding Bird Atlas is starting its 5 year project this
year. I am looking for volunteers for the Franklin and Grand Isle County
Blocks. Contact me directly (not thru the list) if you want more info or go
to Vermont Breeding Bird Atlas . Think of it as a great guilt free way to
bird! Liz Alton, Georgia,VT
