The Carolina Wren was singing Feb 14th,
and has been active throughout the 15th & 16th,
although the nearest bird feeder is a quarter
mile away. Probably a high spider population
is keeping the wren well fed on its territory.
A weak crow succumbed to the cold and/or a fox.
Even the chickadees have abandoned my backyard.
At least a cardinal again was singing in the
pre-dawn cold (-20F) in the presence of a few robins.
