I was surprised to see a flock of 14-15 Purple Finches descend on my
feeders in
Norwich briefly yesterday (Sat.) morning. They stayed < 5 minutes and haven't
reappeared. They are the first I've observed since a few scattered
individuals
this past fall.
Like others, I've also had a Brown Creeper regularly feeding on suet all
winter, a first for me. Very timid, easily bumped off by all other
species. I
expect to hear one sing any day now!
