I think I understand this whole Kennel/Special License registering so I
will attempt to put it in our language.
KENNEL LICENSE: Says SHALL have this when the owner has two or more dogs
or wolf-hybrids kept for sale or breeding purposes. Kennel Permit is
$10.00. In addition to the kennel permit they may purchase the following
special license. The Kennel Permit is on a special form and copy needs
to be forwarded to the State. In other words if a person keeps 2 or more
dogs for breeding purposes - other than their own use - they SHALL have
the Kennel Permit. They also need to register each normally or use the
special license below. But the Kennel permit does not mean it covers all
the dogs for licensing purposes - it is just an additional piece that
needs to be done in addition to regular licensing.
SPECIAL LICENSE: Is a license that MAY be obtained when they are kept
for breeding purposes, HOWEVER, read the criteria in Title 20 Section
3583 carefully because they must be kept in a special enclosure, etc.
Cost is $30.00 up to ten dogs and $3.00 for each additional dog. If this
is used, you still need to have the rabies certificates for each dog
covered under this license.
We keep a copy of the law at the counter and when someone comes in
inquiring, we give a copy. Hope this helps. Paulette

Subject: Kennel Permits
It's funny that the subject of Kennels was brought up because we had a
request for a Kennel Permit today. We've never issued one and don't
anything about them. Can anyone enlighten me?
