I am no fan of Sigmund Freud's rather technical
theory of the psyche and its emphasis on the sexual
instinct. But if I had to guess, you are lumping all
the psychoanalytic (and possibly all the
psychodynamic) theorists together because you do not
have the first clue as to their theories and their
empirical groundwork. If I had to guess, you have
never heard boo about Jung and your familiarity with
Freud consists of excerpts from textbooks and the
15-minute id-ego-superego represented by the chalk
diagram of the iceberg on the blackboard.
You tell me not to be sensitive in the same
breath that you knowingly assail a theory of which I
am a proponent. Either you are fabulously stupid or
you are passive-aggressively attempting to draw a
reaction that gets me branded as a hothead.
"Voodoo" is likely a proxy for what you do not
know about the theories. It's a lot like me saying,
first the sperm enters the fallopian tube and YADA
YADA YADA, out comes a baby nine months later.
