At least two woodcocks have been doing their thing in the morning and
evening deep twilight faithfully, snow or no snow, regardless of
temperatures (last night we got down to about 12 degrees under cloudless
skies) for the last week or so here on the southern end of Snake
Mountain.  We have 2-6 inches of snow cover in the fields except where
there are trickling streamlets.
