The year's first chipping sparrow was rooting around under the bird feeders
today, along with a "dancing" song sparrow. No white-throats yet, no
flickers, and definitely no swallows. I've still got lots and lots and lots
(close to a hundred all together) of grackles, redwinged blackbirds (males
and females now) and cowbirds making a huge racket in the trees and
descending in irridescent clouds to feed.
