4/30/03  inventory of territorial Field Sparrows

>27 singing male FIELD SPARROWS
accompanied by 12-14 BROWN THRASHERS;

and a PILEATED WOODPECKER made one final adustment
to her nest -- a nest-cavity started 3-April, after having tested
three other beech trees for suitability as nest sites on 27-March.
The pair of Pileateds had opened two new roost-cavities 16 and 24-March.
