Approaching the Sand BarState Park on Rte.2, 2 male wood ducks on one
side of the road among many mallards, a male and one female on the
other; 2 crows on one of the osprey nests but no sign of ospreys
anywhere. One great blue heron near the wood ducks. At parking lot of
the Sand Bar Park, 2 very active great blues, then a female no.harrier
came swooping over, harrassing them. Also a pair of chipping sparrows.
On the back roads up towards the ferry, a kestral, 10 turkeys, 8 great
blues flying over--(maybe there was just one that I saw 8 times??!) At
Eagle Camp, 3 very svelte well fed deer, 2 turkey vultures, and robins
everywhere. Nice ride--but no shorebirds.
