4/15 Tree swallow in Morgan (exact same day as 2002). Coincidentally, the
mosquitos were out in full force at dusk!

We also went to check out the short-eared owls on the River Rd, Orleans.
After 1 1/2 hr. we saw no owls at all. But we listened to owl calls for a
good 1/2 hr. right there, sounding a very low muffled "hoo hu-hu hoooo
hooo." We thought maybe great horned owl? Might have heard an answering
female. If those are great horned, what are the chances the short-eared
owls are still there?
