Sorry for the late posting but Saturday at LaPlatte there were
countless (at least one treefull) of beautiful American Goldfinches.
Also present:
RB nuthatch
DC cormorant
Amer Robin
GB heron
3 woodducks (2 male, 1 female)
1 pr. common merganser
1 pr. mallard (very vocal, quack, quack, quack) is that normal for
breeding pair? I never heard that before
RW blackbird
grackles
tree swallows
hairy woodpeckers
The trail was well-marked, pretty muddy but I saw asst. warblers
