Dear Colleagues,
Since its launch in October 2001 the 'Human Nature Review' has proved immensely
popular with informed readers all over the world. In order to expand our
already broad coverage (see http://human-nature.com/nibbs/contents.html) we are
exploring the idea of appointing Associate Editors for particular subject
areas. Although there is no financial compensation available we can guarantee
considerable satisfaction from your encounter with interesting books, authors,
reviewers and publishers, and from helping to create a free and accessible
resource for your colleagues and the wider international community.
Associate Editors will take the responsibility for deciding which books are
worthy of notice or extended treatment and for identifying reviewers capable of
providing both a coherent explanation and informed critique of the core ideas
covered.
Our overall aim is to erode the artificial barriers which impede the flow of
ideas and findings between "the variety of approaches to the understanding of
human nature which have a regrettable tendency to be less in touch with one
another than they might". In particular we hope to encourage a dialogue between
those involved in empirical, theoretical, historical, or philosophical research
in any relevant field of knowledge.
If you are interested in becoming an Associate Editor for your discipline
please reply to this note with brief details of your background and a couple of
titles you would recommend.
Regards
Ian Pitchford PhD CBiol MIBiol
