Position available: Technical Research Staff (MC-ICPMS)
IFREE (Institute for Frontier Research on Earth Evolution) seeks
applications for a 5-year technical research staff position to begin in
October 2003. IFREE is a new institute for geosciences launched in 2001,
which is located in Yokosuka (southern suburb of Tokyo), Japan. The
successful applicant is expected to operate and maintain recently installed
MC-ICPMS Neptune (including sample preparation in clean room) for a variety
of isotopic measurements, especially of transition metals. The successful
applicant is also expected to collaborate with other researchers of diverse
discipline as well as to develop his/her own research program. The ideal
candidates should have a doctoral degree in geochemistry or analytical
chemistry, and be experienced in the operation of (MC-) ICP-MS and/or TIMS.
Knowledge of and experience with clean room chemistry is highly desirable.
