Things were quiet Sunday 8/17 mid afternoon in the Intervale. Except for
one farmer's recording of noisy birds and gunshots that plays now and then
to scare critters off his corn.
We saw a green heron by the river, and three goldfinches all over a large
thistle near Gardener's Supply. Best moment was at the Tommy Thompson
community gardens, where we saw a hummingbird and a goldfinch perched a
few inches apart on a power line. Suddenly, the hummer chased the
goldfinch off the perch and across the road.
