Hello,
As you can see from Alison's e-mails, the CSSA officers have already been meeting and planning activities for the year.
We have reserved a table for the UVM Activities Fair, which will take place next Tuesday, September 9th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We have volunteers to help with set-up, but we need some help from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (3:00-3:30 will be clean-up). We also need your ideas. What should we hand out or do to attract attention to our club? (CSSA is primarily geared to CS majors/minors, but any UVM student who is interested in computing may join.)
Our fall picnic will take place on Wednesday, September 17th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. We will need help with cooking, setup and cleanup. This will give you a chance to meet fellow students, as well as new and returning faculty. If you recall, the department has a new Dorothean professor, Dr. Sean Wang, who was hired last spring. You are not required to RSVP, but if you would like to e-mail me at [log in to unmask] to tell me you're coming, that would great.
The general meeting will be held late September/early October.
The officers will be meeting this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. to discuss further business.
If you have any ideas/concerns about CSSA activities, please e-mail me or any of the other officers.
Have a great year!
Sincerely,
Charlotte E. Pratt
President,
Computer Science Student Association
