Here are directions from the center of Putney. There
are other approaches off of Rt 30 in Newfane but I do
not know the names of the back roads.

The site is monitored daily during September. In
October, mostly just weekends. We don't have any
organized schedule, we just make it up when our
schedules allow.

From I-91: take exit 4 (Putney).
Go north on Rt 5 into the town of Putney.
In the center of town make a left at the General Store
onto Westminster West Road and follow for about 1
mile.
Take a left on  West Hill Road and follow for a few
miles.
Take a right on Putney Mountain Road. It is a 90
degree turn onto a dirt road. Follow up the mountain
for a couple of miles until you reach the highest
point.
There will be a parking area off to the right through
the trees. Park there and then follow the dominant
trail along the ridge until you get to the clearing at
the top. Walking time is about 15 minutes.
