Mac OS X has come a long way since its first release, and now the pieces are falling into place to fully integrate Mac OS X into the Higher Education environment. Whether you use Active directory or LDAP for directory services, use NetInstall or NetBoot for deployment, these tools are better than ever before for leveraging Mac OS X in your environment. Enterprise applications have come a long way, and Higher Ed IT organizations can take advantage of existing applications like SAP and Oracle. Where applications don't exist natively, organizations can employ Citrix or VirtualPC and still keep your installed base of Macintosh computers.
Spend a day hearing what MIT, Berklee, and other area schools are doing to make Mac OS X work within their environment.
