no valentineīs for me yet, but the mail is extremely slow, just like life here.
Everything is tranquila in the valley of Los Chillos. Anyway, the first third
of my journey is ending this week. . .

Last week, we traveled about 6 hours to a cloud forest reserve, which was
absolutely BEAUTIFUl. We stayed in cabanas, swam in waterfalls, and talked by
candlelight. It was amazing, and I just felt so at peace with my choice to come
here. I donīt even remember how Ecuador came into the picture for me, but I am
so glad that it did. I canīt describe it, but you can see pictures when we get
home!

Everything has been amazing so far. . . I get to glance at huge mountains,
valleys, and volcanoes every moment of the day. There are moments that are
difficult, but they pass. I am just trying to enjoy this crazy experience every
day. This week, we leave our families and go to the Amazon rainforest for a
week and then more school in the city of Quito! I canīt wait to salsa dance
when we get home!

I hope everyone is having an amazing time. Keep the journal moving, because I
want to get it and the mail takes 3 weeks!!!!!! I Love you guys-keep in touch
and write when you have a chance.

Love,
Laura

ps-went to a shaman for the experience and it was absolutely CRAZY! I will keep
you guys updated after the next time i go. . .
