Hello Everbody,
I have survived. Amsterdam is a crazy city, to say the least. Everything goes
- drugs, prostitution, gambling, late night boozing, everything...And we did it
all, save the the prostitution...
We started every day in a beautiful coffeeshop called Barney's...I would get a
joint, cappucino, and big breakfast of 2 eggs, potatoes, toast, and a crepe
with warm carmelized apples inside - scrumdidyliumptuous...
Then it was long walks along the canals looking at the beautiful Dutch houses
that are actually very similar to Brooklyn brownstones...we chilled in a
beautiful city park, went to the Van Gogh museum, the national gallery to see
tons of amazing paintings by Vermeer, Anne Frank's House, and the Torture
Museum, which was my friend Alan's favorite...We also got the opportunity to
sip beer, smoke, and watch teh biggest football game of the season surrounded
by crazy fans...
Amsterdam is a crazy city that keeps you on your toes, whether you're trying to
walk straight along the canals, crossing 6 lanes of traffic per street (2 bike
lanes, 2 car lanes, and 2 tram lanes!!!) or avoiding the shady people in the
Red-Light District...
However, what was the tastiest part of Amsterdam???? FALAFEL....EVERYWHERE.
So delicious, better I must say than Baba's, but one doesn't get the service
with a smile like in VT!!!
We capped off every night with a 3AM Falafel, then headed back to the hostel to
crash in a room we shared with 2 guys from Switzerland.
I woke up Monday morning, walked through the snow to the train station for my
plane back to england, and now here I am back in Canterbury...
I'm going to Belgium with a buddy from Canterbuy, clark, on friday and will be
back Monday.
Leeroy - Mark April 2nd and 3rd in Paris for my B-Day with Alan, my parents, and
my friend Marcin whom I think you've met, or certainly know of...And, by the
way, I'm sending back to myself some bud called.......stella blue...lovely.
I'll let you know details soon about Paris.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Everybody's stories sound great, and i can't
wait to read more.
Stay safe and Happy!!!
Peace,
Zachariah
