Hey everybody,

Lys, of course I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Stay strong and
positive, and know we're all with you.
I got your letter today and it was wonderful. I don't want them any shorter!!!
I'll write soon.

So, today was a nice day. Nothing stupendous, but nice. The sun was shining,
which again is very rare. After doing things on campus (gym, laundary, lunch),
I strolled down into town. I got an outline done for my poetry class. The
essay is due Feb. 16, but I'm gonna get it done before sunday cause then I have
two weeks off - don't ask me why - for one of which my mom will be in London so
that will be a good time.
After the outline, I went to a little park in the middle of Canterbury and got
lots of good reading done - I'm reading "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith, a great
book that I highly reccomend. I got a little hungry so I went to the best fish
n chips in town and got chips with curry sauce and sat oustide to eat. Then it
hit me. Terrapin Station was playing in the headphones. I was sitting across
from Chaucer's Bookshop - a beautiful used bookstore with walls of books - all
old editions. The Canteruby Cathedral's spires were soaring into the sky, and
the curry was steaming and delicious. I remembered that I was in England, and
broke into a wide smile and laughed at how ridiculous all of this is. All the
chips having been consumed, rather hastily, I walked my way through down boppin
to Grisman bluegrass, got onto the path to campus, and funked my way through
St. Stephen's fields to Shuggie Otis. As I reached the top of the hill and
looked back into town, night had fallen, and the Cahtedral was shining bright.
It's lovely when the craziness of what we're doing pops its head about after a
month, when things begin to become normal.

Tomorrow, I'm taking a little day trip into Bath, "A must see for travelers
since 43 AD" says the guide book. there are apparantly Roman Bath ruins
throughout the city, hence the name. If I want, I could spend 150 Pounds for
an Air Balloon ride, but I think I'll pass. It'll be a nice little trip.

Lee, you had me laughing out loud with the Animals line, and I'll be sure to get
a picture of the warehouse on my way into London tomorrow. It turns out, and
this goes for Tess and Brooke as well, that classes end March 16, and after
that I have one more day of school in mid-may. I don't understand any of it,
but I will have tons of travelling time, so whenever is the best time for you
guys, its good for me. Brooke and Lee, I know you've only juust arrived, so
just put that into the back of your heads. Although Lee, Im' going to be in
Amsterdam from Feb. 19 - 23 with Alan, if that means anything. Also, my mom
expressed interest in getting you into Paris for my birthday in April.
Thoughts??

I'm ecstatic to hear virtually everyone (sorry Keith) has begun their travels.
Pretty soon, real letters will be flying all over the world. What a lovely
thought.

Alright everyone, this was supposed to be a short email, sorry about that.
Love you all,
Stay safe and happy.
-Zach
