Hi,

Everyone should check out this article which goes
through what's happening in South Dakota where they
are about to ban abortions completely throughout the
whole state regardless of cases of rape, incest or
the quality of life that mothers are able to give
their unplanned children.  In one of the poorest
states in the country, this is really an issue of
continued dsicrimination and oppression of the
working class as well as a hideous encroachment on
the rights of women.

This is the first step of a much larger campaign
spearheaded by the Christian Right who are hardening
and sharpening their attack all the time.  In Iowa
now they want to give rights to a fertilized egg
which would make Emergency Contraception illegal if
abortions were banned in that state.  ALso
interesting in the South Dakota case is how the Right
to Life people did not support the ban because an
election year is the wrong time to try to ban
abortion but 5 democrats voted for the bill.  This
bizarre turning of supposed positions just shows how
little politicians care about women's rights and care
only about electablity.  Neither Republican nor
democrat is going to help us.

We have to come back running to the new semester.
April 25th is 1 month and 1 week away and we need to
build our co-alition as big as possible.  The right
are attacking and we need to attack harder and louder
because this is where we will be able to win things
not by relying on deceitful democrats and rotten
republicans.

So check out thsi article and post your reactions to
the list.  We need to talk about all of this stuff.
