It is my understanding that you are the webmaster for www.vema-online.org
and www.dcfaward.org. I'm writing to let you know that our school is among
those who are unable to get to either of those sites because we block the
server that is hosting them. Because our URL filter blocks by IP address, it
will block all the sites on a server when one (or more) of the sites that
the server hosts is deemed inappropriate. Unfortunately, there are sites
that we need to block that are being hosted by the same server that hosts
vema-online and dcfaward. I know that you have nothing to do with the
blocked sites and that they are completely our of your control, but
unfortunately we still feel that is necessary to block this server and thus
block your sites as well.
I know this may be impossible for you, but if you would consider choosing
another server to host your sites it would then become accessible to us and
possibly others as well. I hope you understand that I'm not requesting this,
but just suggesting that if, in the future, a good opportunity on another
server arises for you, it might solve some of the problems that librarians
are having in getting access to these two good resources.
I have copied this to a list-serve that I belong to, because this topic has
appeared for discussion there recently.
