Chris:
I report gastroc & soleal clots, but not as DVT. I only identify what veins
they are in. They are paired veins but not deep (according to my training).
Docs do not have a regimented treatment for them. Some docs treat them with
IV, others treat more conservatively; also depends on the extent of the
clot. If multiple gast/sol veins are clotted, they usually treat with IV.
Are they recurrent? Do they extend into the deep system?
