An interesting dilemma has come my way. I have a sonographer friend who was asked to use a very old, very used ATL Echo Analyzer for home veterinary purposes. He was wondering if anyone could remember what type of "oil" could be used to re-supply the fluid in the mechanical transducer head. Any of the old school techs who remember the days of mechanical probes will certainly be the best sources on this one. I used to have to do this at one of my old accounts a long time ago, but it has been years. I simply cannot remember the name of the stuff we used. As a substitute, would mineral oil work, how about baby oil? My friend is desperate for a solution.
Thanks for any suggestions.
