Berlin Pond continues to be a lively spot. At 7 this morning I was treated
to several fly bys of the Peregrine Falcon. There was no sign of the
Shovelers or Hoodies from earlier this week, although quite a few Ring
Necked seem right at home. A couple of Wood Ducks appear to be quite
comfortable in the marshy area. The highlight of the morning was the sound
of an American Bittern pumping away. As the Bittern does so well, he
remained hidden from my view despite peering and searching through the
brush. Spring is coming!
