An early evening stroll along the lake shore in East Alburg with my mom
gave up a great suprise! Explaining to her how important it is to be quiet
(as the kids were yelling and throwing stones into the lake). We watched
some RWBB fly over and she asked the GREAT question, "What is that one?"
Off the shoulder came the scope and WOW there it sat in a tree on the
shore, it even stayed long enough for my mom to determine that it wasn't
one of her normal yard birds. After we looked at the little Sibley and she
was able to take her description of the bird and compare it to the book
she was pretty excited. What a great experience.
Not much was happening on the lake when I had a chance to view it, 30
Common Mergansers and 2 Ring-necked ducks, several gulls on the trestle.
