Sorry for the belated report, last Sunday 3/28/04 there were about 50
Bohemian Waxwings in and around Dead Creek WMA. They were mostly on the
back roads on the northern areas of the Creek, and were quite tame allowing
for some good photographs and looks.
There were a heck of a lot of people at Dead Creek, especially on the Rt. 17
viewing areas, but we still got many Canada Geese, a small flock of Snow
Geese, Mallards, Ring-billed Gull, Herring Gull, Great Black Backed Gull,
Northern Harrier, Rough-Legged Hawk, Red-Tailed Hawk, a Horned Lark was seen
near the pull-off for viewing the fields off rt. 17. Lots of regulars, plus
quite a few of the season's first Tree Swallows.
Also more Bohemian Waxwings (about 20) were seen in the parking lot of the
kennedy Brothers store in Vergennes.
